Multiple articles today have called the TT DOHC V8 in the CT6 V-Sport is part of a new “Cadillac Exclusive” engine architecture. All the mid engine Vette rumors have cited the power plant as a DOHC TT V8...
I feel like the IMSA program’s move away from the Corvette bodied prototype to the DPi V-R was an early indication that the car would be a Cadillac.

So we’re finally getting a Cadillac Cien.

The leaked CAD drawings of the mid-engine “Corvette” twin turbo did not have a “hot-V” design.
My guess is that the mid-engine car will be based on this engine, but get a thorough performance overhaul. Larger turbos, heavier duty internals, more cooling.
Enough will change that it should have an different naming designation leaving the “hot V” design exclusive to Cadillac.

GM could always make some slight changes to the engine, call it something else, and still claim it’s Cadillac exclusive.

Okay look, if it’s true and Cadillac really builds a mid-engined supercar, then I hope and pray they go all out with styling, performance, features, interior, the whole works to put a Ferrari to shame. In my mind, this would be go all the way or suffer complete humiliation.

Doesn’t the Z06 and ZR1 already have that covered?

Put me down as a +1 for “not a Cadillac”

Performance-wise, that’s what I understand, and that’s why I don’t think GM needs to make a mid-engined car at all. But, if they’re really going to do it, then they had better go lavishly over the top with the technology and appointments because they will be going head on at the over $200k supercar market. It will need to be better than a Ferrari. As a Cadillac it will also need to be clearly above the Corvette, which for all its performance, it still billed as the common man’s sports car.

The leaked images look nothing like the Cadillac engine. It has a conventional intake in the V and exhaust out the sides.
